First Thoughts
From seeing the first walker it felt amazing to be back in Telltales Walking dead style game and the action from the intro is AMAZING!!! I Cant wait to see what more this story has to offer, if I enjoyed it that much from the first five minutes I cant imagine what kind of story this is going to have but it seems very mysterious and I don’t want to spoil anything.

So it starts off with some dialogue with Michonne (A FAN FAVORITE CHARACTER FROM THE WALKING DEAD UNIVERSE) and this follows the story of why and what made Michonne leave Ricks group. From what I can gather it seems that she cant seem to forget someone (I’m going to keep this as vague as possible. If the story for this is ruined then it will be a big disappointment for any player) so Michonne sets out to settle her memory, on her way she meets some new people and has some awesome run ins with the walkers which lead to awesome action scenes that will get any fan excited. As any fan will know from previous Telltale games your decisions drastically change the way the story pans out, each decision could lead to anything and that’s what I find brilliant about the telltale stories. This is only episode 1 there will be 2 more in this mini series; all I can say is. I CANT WAIT!!! the story to this episode was absolutely stunning from the start to the finish there wasn’t a dull moment I wanted to know what was going to happen next. If you want a brilliant story driven experience then this game is definitely for you.

The gameplay is very similar to previous telltale games so any previous fan will be familiar with this gameplay and controls. But for new players who have not experienced any previous telltale games. They should not have much trouble getting to grips with the gameplay and controls. The gameplay is very simple giving you the ability to explore certain areas choosing to examine certain objects and scenery, in addition to the exploring style of gameplay; you will have quick time moments where you will need to press certain buttons or mash certain buttons to lift objects or to attack walkers. I’ve always enjoyed Telltales gameplay and control style as I think it doesn’t distract you from the story with trying to master any types of controls and it keeps the story going at all times.

The graphics to this game are very similar to the previous walking dead games by telltale; its like an animated novel. The game has amazing scenery and brilliant character designs. Not only is the scenery and character designs great but lighting effects are brilliant. I’ve always enjoyed the graphics on telltale games and especially the walking dead ones as I think it goes really well with the walkers. Characters facial expressions are always noticeable and I think this goes really well as it gives that extra bit of story to the characters and the way they are feeling at the time in the game. Overall the graphics on this game are brilliant and I really enjoy it a lot.

The sound effects and soundtrack to this game are absolutely stunning. Voice actors are amazing with each characters voice fitting really well and adding a perfect experience to the story, sound effects such as walking, weapon noises, and scenery sounds are all amazing. The noises the walkers make are superb and the sound of the weapons especially close combat weapons sound perfect and fits really well with the game. The game has a brilliant soundtrack including songs (instrumental) throughout the episode at times but there where 2 songs with vocals that I thought fit really well within this game the first song is:

Dorothy – Gun In My Hand

The second song was in the credits and it was another song that fit perfect with this game First Aid Kit – Wolf

Overall the soundtrack, sound effects and voice actors in this game are flawless.

Lasting Appeal
Seeing as this is only episode 1 there will be another 2 more episodes in the upcoming months but once all 3 episodes have been finished you can always replay and change your decisions to experience different outcomes.

Final Thoughts
Episode 1 was absolutely stunning and a brilliant experience and I really can not wait until the next episode. This episode lasted about 2 hours long and was packed with so much for you to enjoy. The soundtrack was great and I was really impressed in the choice of songs as they fit really well with Michonne as a character. As I’ve stated above I cant wait for the future episodes for this Mini Series as it is such an amazing experience for any gamer who wants a very detailed story.
