” Welcome To Facility 7 ”

The Story:

Magnetic: Cage Closed is about an Inmate on Death row where you are stuck in a weapons testing facility and its up to you to test out a prototype weapon. This prototype is of a magnetic gun which allows you to create electromagnetic fields with either positive or negative charges. The Prototype weapon that you have is their to help for fill a number of challenges set up by mysterious scientists and doctors.

Will you Die or Show your willing to test

The Gameplay:

The Game Magnetic: Cage Closed is a first person puzzle game where the player manipulates magnetic forces to accomplish their goals. The mechanics are focused around a single tool that helps you through multiple stages and levels. It’s overall mechanic is like portal; one weapon to control and special cubes but this time the cube are not their for companionship they are there to help you get past many stages in the game.

The Sound:

The sound on this game is great the music that plays during the opening screen you here a bit music then all of a sudden a man’s voice comes on and say’s welcome. This made me jump at first because of it being so sudden; then your lead to a room where he tells you why your here and what your going to do. Throughout the game the same person speaks to you trying to get you to fail but what makes it so funny is occasionally he will shout at a co-worker telling him to complete something or the next time you hand a prototype make sure to have a good look over it before it blows a testers hands off in their face.

The Graphics:

The Graphics are brilliant the way they have used dark color inside the prison to stimulate confinement and the use of the color red is used to show the design of big red buttons and they also use red for a negative pole this is used by the magnetic gun prototype to help move you and other stuff around a closed room and the color blue is used to show the positive pole to drag stuff towards you.

Lasting Appeal:

Magnetic: Cage Closed is a beautiful game with many advantages of the game and disadvantages. The main problems are that most puzzles are insane to figure out in order to complete the rooms but that only adds more of a challenge to the game and the good thing about the game is that it’s not that easy like in most puzzle games it’s too easy to complete; This has it’s moments when you want to pull your hair out but you have to think about puzzles not just jump in to them straight away.

Final Thoughts:

Overall the game is a lot like portal which I loved and this game has made me think more on these types of games and the way it has been laid out is fantastic. Only problem I would say is at part’s the character moves too slow from a cargo container to a room; it takes too long to open and then you have to climb out which is a pain but overall a really nice game.

My Score = 7/10

Magnetic: Cage Closed is available now for PC from the Steam Store.
