“What the hell is this, Monopoly money?!”
Please Note: This Review is for the Xbox One Version
So my first thoughts for this game is that it looks great fun and it is great fun either with the kinect or controller its still very enjoyable and the game has loads to offer.
The story follows two characters Tony Luciano, the psychopathic son of Los Angeles godfather and Clarence, an ex-soldier who has been hired as the Don’s hitman. The two characters will have to fight there way through various stages encountering various enemies and bosses. each character has there own missions which I think is great as it switches up between a serious and funny character perspective. Overall the story to Blue Estate is good but I wasn’t really following it that much but I think that’s because I have not read the comics but I will admit I found the story funny which I like but I think people who have read the comic will find themselves more attached and gripped to the story.
The gameplay is a rail shooter but there is much more than just aiming and shooting in this rail shooter but first I will go over the shooting and aiming. first off using Kinect for this game is great every feature that you need to use is amazing and fits the game very well it will take time to get the hang of the aiming and stuff as I still ain’t got the hang of it on kinect. The game is just as great when using the controller and that’s one of my favorite things about this game is that you can play it with either the kinect or controller so if you cant be bothered to stand up and aim at the TV (Kinect) with your hand then you can sit down and aim with the analogue and shoot with the RT and takes a little less time to get use to other than that there is many other features such as gestures use will have to use the left analogue or your left hand to open doors throw back items and other random things that you will find out in the process of playing the game. Overall the gameplay to blue estate is amazing fun I really enjoyed this game everything about the gameplay seems fresh and is really fun and is definitely the strong point to blue estate.
The graphics to blue estate are very detailed and I liked them a lot I liked the comic book look to it which is great each character was very detailed and the surrounding detail of the levels looks amazing as well each level design looked new and fresh for the game which I really liked a lot the graphics are a very strong point to this game and I thought they looked amazing.
The sound to this game is great especially the sound effects and voice actors each gun has its own great sound effect that is perfect! also the voice actors are great and everything they say is great and usually very funny. also the music to the game is great but i didn’t notice it as much as i was paying attention to what each character had to say. Overall the sound to the game is great and it is another strong point to the game.
The lasting appeal to this game is going through the arcade mode or replaying the story and try to get all the stars and also beating your own score is always good fun.
I Enjoyed every minute of this game, the gameplay is amazing! and I really found it fresh and new to play also the voice actors are brilliant my only issue is I wish there was more missions to play other than that the game is great fun.
- Great Voice Actors
- Fun Gameplay
- Awesome Graphics
- Hilarious Script
- The choice to play with either kinect or controller
- Kinect works great with the game and is enjoyable to use
- Very Short (Wish there was more story missions)
