Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition won’t affect Triad Wars’ Development

United Front Games have today revealed more details on the upcoming Definitive Edition of Sleeping Dogs confirming that the development of the remaster won’t affect development on upcoming sequel; Triad Wars.

Sleeping Dogs was originally released in August 2012 for the PC, PS3 & Xbox 360 and stunned numerous gamers with its mix of open world gameplay, mixed martial arts and a gripping story aswell as a superb voice cast and after going through a rough time in development at Activision; The game was instead released by Square Enix and United Front Games who showed off the city of Hong Kong as a fully explorable open world as it was home to the story of undercover cop; Wei Shen.

Recently; Square Enix revealed that United Front Games are busy at work developing a Definitive Edition of Sleeping Dogs for release later this year on PC, PS4 & Xbox One aswell as a sequel to the title in the form of Sleeping Dogs: Triad Wars.

While the news excited most Sleeping Dogs players; It also caused worry that the development of the Definitive Edition would halt work being done on Triad Wars. In order to put an end to this worry; UFG’s Community Manager has come forward on the community forums to reveal that the Definitive Edition of the title won’t affect the development of the upcoming sequel.

“Now I know you’re all hoping I’ll have an update on Triad Wars for you, but just to manage expectations – I don’t have any information about it myself at present as information about it is being tightly controlled (even internally) and I’m not involved with it myself. Suffice to say that it’s being worked and that the Definitive Edition hasn’t impacted its development in any way,” He reassured fans.

In addition to this news, The Representitive also went on to give out some more details on the upcoming definitive edition and revealed exactly what it will and won’t feature.

“The DLCs included are most likely to be all DLCs released previously except for the specific boosters. All DLC content is designed to fit into the game seamlessly, so you won’t have to worry about activating any additional content as such.” He also revealed that unfortunately, there would be no mod tools for the gamers stating “I did discuss this with the dev team and everyone here is well aware of the amazing stuff the community could come up with given the tools. Unfortunately, however, this isn’t possible as part of this release in particular. I’m sorry to disappoint you on this… I know we would have loved to see what you could come up with!”.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One & PC on October 10th 2014.
