At Sony’s Gamescom conference; A Mysterious Horror title was shown called P.T. which also included players reactions and after some brave players (Not including myself) managed to complete the demo, The mystery behind this title has apparently been revealed.
During Sony’s Press conference; A Mysterious demo/ Interactive teaser was shown for a mysterious horror title called P.T. from a newly founded studio called 7780s Studio which showed off a tiny bit of gameplay before skipping to player reactions which featured lots and lots of screaming. Most people since (Including myself) have attempted to complete it and have failed miserably quivering and screaming like children however there are a few brave players out there who have conquered this demo and have revealed what happens at the end.
Turns out at the end of the demo; we see a man walking down a gloomy street when the names Hideo Kojima & Guillermo Del Toro appear on screen briefly before the man turns to reveal himself as none other than Daryl Dixon himself; Norman Reedus. The game title then appears as it fades out with the chilling yet iconic theme song for Silent Hill from Akira Yamaoka.
This is great news considering Kojima; Long time developer and master of the mind trick has been discussing the possibility of tackling the Silent Hill franchise and working with Norman Reedus via Twitter. Considering this is also not the first time Kojima has done this (Prime example was The Phantom Pain); It should be interesting to see his thoughts and also because while you may not know this, He also reinvented the Castlevania series with Lords of Shadow and that is absolutely phenomenal. Also, While Kojima appeared on stage with a new glimpse at Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; This could have been the actual reason behind his appearance at the event.
The most recent titles in the series were Book of Memories which came out exclusively on the PlayStation Vita aswell as the Silent Hill HD Collection which came out for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 and added new voice overs and graphics.
So far P.T. is absolutely terrifying and proves that at this moment in time when countless Zombie games are getting pumped out; Survival Horror is still going strong. Watch the teaser with the players reactions to it below.
So what do you think? Have you been lucky enough to finish the P.T. demo? Are you glad this could be a new entry in the Silent Hill series?
