Hello everyone and welcome to The Weekend Playlist where we tell you whats been occupying our weekends so that you may get some recommendations or be dissuaded from certain titles. Unfortunately this week, We couldn’t get a third editor so Me & Jonnie have doubled our games to give you more recommendations so lets get started.
Matt McNamee; Chief Editor at UGNN:
Last Games you Played – BioShock Infinite & Fez
OK so the first game I played this weekend was Fez which I got to review from Polytron (Expect Review soon) and so far I’m really enjoying it. I can’t really remember the last time an indie title captivated me like this one and I am loving every single second of it. Definitely recommend this to anyone.
The last game I played this weekend was BioShock Infinite which believe it or not I am finally playing through for the first time since its release last march. Wow what can I say, The combat and storyline are fantastic and cannot be faulted; Same for Troy Baker & Courtnee Draper who give perfect performances. Brilliant game and can’t wait to complete it and do a review.
Last Movies you Watched – Tropic Thunder & Meet the Feebles
The first film I watched this weekend was Meet the Feebles which is basically The Muppets on Acid. This is one of Peter Jackson’s Pre-Lord of the Rings films and it is bloody hilarious. The film has everything from Gangster walruses and Hedgehogs with Speech Impedaments to a Hippo trying to hang themselves from a chandelier and a Fox singing about their love of Sodomy. This is a fantastic film and literally still has me creased with laughter since watching it. Must watch but not a puppet movie for Kids.
The Last film I watched this weekend was Tropic Thunder which is a war comedy starring Ben Stiller (Meet the Parents), Jack Black (School of Rock) & Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) as the main stars. The film revolves around a group of arrogant actors trying to do a war movie which goes terribly wrong when they end up in the golden triangle. In which they must survive against Vietnamese Drug Dealers. This is a brilliant film with a star studded cast and a comedy where everything goes wrong. Must watch.
Last TV Shows you Watched – How I Met Your Mother & Arrow
The first of my 2 TV Shows this weekend is the latest episode of Arrow Season 2 where team Arrow have to deal with the consequences set in place by Deathstroke. The cast is as brilliant as ever and I can’t wait to see how Season 2 ends.
The last show I watched this weekend was How I Met Your Mother and this weeks episode was great. Barney thinks his rehearsal dinner will be held at a laser tag arena while Ted tries to be the next Liberachi. Great show and its sad to think this is the last ever season.
Last YouTube Video you Watched – Godzilla 2014 Trailer
The last youtube video I watched to get myself hyped is the Godzilla 2014 trailer. This film looks incredible and I can’t wait for a few more weeks to see Heisenberg fight a giant dinosaur. Forget Breaking Bad more like Breaking Badass. Check it out below. (P.S. Nothing will beat Breaking Bad)
Last Book or Article you Read – N/A
Not Read anything this week sorry
Last Pieces of Music you Listened to – Another Winter by Anamanaguchi & Cold as Ice by Foreigner
So the last 2 piece of Music I listened to this weekend are these; The fantastic track; Another Winter from the Scott Pilgrim video game soundtrack. Seriously can’t be faulted.
& Cold As Ice as sung by Foreigner which has appeared on one of my favorite shows of all time; Supernatural.
Jonnie Dixon; Editor at UGNN:
Last Games you Played – Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars & Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl
So I have been playing Etrian Odyssey Untold and so far I think it’s very good i’m looking forward to playing more considering this is the first I’ve played.
I have been waiting for this game for a while and It’s pretty good so far it’s pretty much like a persona inspired RPG that is very interesting.
Last Movies you Watched – South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut & Dragonball Z: Battle of the Gods
I had Completely forgot how funny this movie was and despite my dislike of musicals some of the songs are actually really catchy.
I have finally gotten around to watching this Film, it was in Japanese with ENG subtitles but that didn’t bother me but what did bother me was the film itself I have to say this is by far the worst DBZ film i’ve ever seen, Bills wasn’t that good of a villain and the fight scenes weren’t that good either it just seems that Toriyama is trying to make a joke out of DBZ.
Last TV Shows you Watched – Arrow & Dragonball: Kai
So unfortunately I’ve decided to stop watching Arrow as the show couldn’t keep my interest so I decided to stop. (This is Matt; For the clip to replace the repetitive Season 1 promo; I’ve included a clip with what I class as a sex scene from the show with my favorite song playing. So enjoy and don’t show this to anyone under 15 unless you want to.)
Dragon Ball Kai is a Remastered series of DBZ I have decided to start watching this again with a possible new season on the way If anyone is wondering this series is a lot worse than the original.
Last YouTube Video you Watched – Dragonball Z: Abridged Episode 41
This Episode wasn’t the greatest but this series is definitely one of the best on Youtube.
Last Book or Article you Read – Dragonball Kai Buu Saga
Apparently Funimation Have been recording the script for the Buu saga for DB Kai which has me pretty excited.
Last Piece of Music you Listened to – Cha-La-Head-Cha-La
So this is the Opening for DBZ, Battle of the gods and DBZ Abridged And I was really happy they brought this back for Battle of the gods, It’s a really catchy song.
