inFamous Second Son in case you didn’t know is the upcoming installment of the inFamous franchise which is essentially a game series that revolves around choices is set to get even harder for players with even tougher decisions that aren’t exactly good or bad and that won’t be presented in an ambiguous way.
The series which originally featured electrical protagonist; Cole MacGrath as he tried desperately to stop an evil being simply called The Beast featured decisions which affected your look in the public eye such as using your electricity as shock pads to help people making you a hero or slaughtering innocent civilians for supplies to give yourself an evil appearance. inFamous Second Son is set to continue this tradition with new protagonist; Delsin Rowe making a whole new set of decisions after gaining mysterious super powers.
“The choices you make along the way will not only impact Delsin’s story, but also the way that his powers mature and evolve, and the way other characters around you evolve and change. It’s very, very different. You’ve got to play the game twice to see it all,” Sucker Punch’s Nate Fox told VG247 about the new title. What’s more, these choices won’t be presented in elusive or ambiguous ways, as the game will give players an idea about what consequences await them if they go on a certain path.
“We try and make it pretty clear when you’ve done something evil mainly because it really sucks when it’s nebulous. It’s not fun to feel like, ‘Well I think I did the right thing in that video game,’ because there’s so much you have to understand about the rules of the world, your abilities, what the mission is asking you and all of that stuff,” Fox added. “We try to cut down on ambiguity as much as possible, but at the same time we try to put situations in front of the player that are frankly tough, because that’s what games are good for; they can transport you to places you’ve never been and let you do things you’ve never done before.”
Sucker Punch have also revealed that the choices you make will not only affect Delsin but will also affect his brother Reggie who is a Seattle Cop aswell as the world around Delsin.
inFamous: Second Son will be released on March 21st exclusively on PlayStation 4. Check out the trailer below.
