Titanfall may recieve mod support on PC after Launch says Respawn

Recently Steve Fukuda; A Game director working on highly anticipated title Titanfall had an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun discussing Titanfall and what we can expect from Titanfall and surprisingly; One of the things he mentioned was regarding Mod Support on PC.

In the interview he told Rock, Paper, Shotgun “Technically, nothing is off the table. It’s just a question of priorities and time and whether or not we can get to it while working on the game as a whole.” In the same interview; Fukuda stated that the structure of Titanfall and its use of Origin, the digital distribution solution from Electronic Arts (EA), means that there’s no way to modify elements of the game and still be able to get into matches. He added, “It’s very carefully tuned. It’s very tweaked and dialed in. We don’t want someone to get the wrong impression of the game if somebody, say, changes a lot of the properties. Perhaps if we come up with a form and a structure by which we can let people know, ‘Hey, this is the no-holds-barred Wild West area’, perhaps we can look into something like that.”

titanfall_screen_2

So by the look of it, The development team at Respawn are interested in creating a way for gamers to make their own content which can then be shared with the rest of the community. As of right now, Titanfall is currently available for Xbox Live Gold Subscribers on Xbox One and PC allowing gamers to get their hands on the shooter’s core mechanics such as wall running, controlling the titans and more. Titanfall is an online multiplayer first person shooter with story mode elements (Similar to that of Defiance) that will have 6 gamers on each team and a variety of other AI-controlled enemies, with a lot of emphasis on freedom of movement and tactics.

Titanfall is set to launch on Xbox One & PC in North America on March 11th and will be released 2 days later in the UK & Europe.

So what do you think? Would you like to see Mod Support? Have you tried the Beta yet? Are you picking up Titanfall? Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments section below and be sure to stay tuned to UGNN for all your gaming news and reviews and remember to follow us on WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn & Reddit.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare rated for PS4 in Korea

This year, we saw loads of huge announcements at E3 in June (most of them being for next gen consoles) however their was one announcement which took quite a few people by surprise; Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare which brings the highly popular mobile game; Plants vs. Zombies to the home consoles in the form of a third person shooter/strategy game.

The game which is getting published by Electronic Arts (EA) has been highly made out to be an Xbox exclusive however a recent online discovery could prove this is not the case. A Korean ratings board has rated Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for PlayStation 4, Xbox One & Xbox 360. The latter consoles were already known to be getting the game. EA are still to officially confirm if a PlayStation 4 version is in the works.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is currently set to be released on February 20th 2014 in Europe & February 18th 2013 in North America on Xbox 360, Xbox One & PC. Check out the trailer below.

So what do you think? Do you want this game on PS4? Are you going to be buying this in February? Where do you think Plants vs. Zombies could go next? Be sure to let me know in the comments section below and remember to stay tuned to UGNN for all your gaming news and reviews.

Diablo-III-epic-wallpaper

Diablo III Review

Since its inception back in 1996, Diablo has been one of the biggest role playing franchises in the history of gaming and has primarily been a PC franchise. That is until Diablo III was revealed to be in development at Sony’s PlayStation conference back in New York only for it to also be confirmed for Xbox 360 a few months later. It was released this September on the consoles but the huge question is, can a console version compete with the same game that was released on PC 1 year prior?

The story takes place in Sanctuary, 20 years after the events of Diablo II as Decker Cain & His niece Leah investigate ancient texts regarding an ominous prophecy when a mysterious star crashes into the earth creating a deep crater into which Decker vanishes. Desperate to find her uncle, Leah enlists the help of the “Protagonist” who travels to the town of New Tristram to investigate the star that fell aswell as finding out why the dead are starting to rise. Sure enough as the protagonist continues on his/her journey. They discover that numerous demons have risen with the dead including the ultimate evil, Diablo.

Xbox_Multiplayer_598

Gameplay wise the game does extremely well on the consoles in coping with the PC style gameplay. The gameplay is a hack & slash role playing game that is seen from a birds eye perspective with elements of fantasy horror. New to the consoles the game also features a new way to perform dodges much easier with the introduction of Right stick use. In addition to the controls for dodging, the use of the control pad makes it just feel easier to control unless you are used to the PC version.

As far as problems go, the only real problem for me had to be the graphics because while they are absolutely phenomenal during the cutscenes, the actual game graphics just aren’t as spectacular as the cutscenes and the game tends to look a little bit cartoony at times. Other than the graphics however there is absolutely no fault with this game at all and it is extremely easy for anyone to just pick it up and jump straight into the action. Another thing that impressed me about the game is its co-op play which allows you to team up with any other players character from around the world using Xbox Live/PSN and working together using your various skills & techniques to complete the tasks/quests at hand.

Xbox_Multiplayer_711

All in all, Diablo III has made an excellent transition from the PC to the console and it looked good doing it aswell. As previously mentioned the graphics aren’t the greatest but as they tend to say “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and Diablo III has proved that PC material can translate to the consoles and work well. Here’s hoping that Blizzard takes this positive feedback and brings World of Warcraft to the PlayStation 4 & Xbox One.

My Rating – 9.5/10

The Good:

  • Fantastic Narrative
  • Customization Features
  • Stunning Cutscenes
  • Easy to use Gameplay
  • Excellent Multiplayer

The Bad:

  • Not the greatest graphics
